About Bella

Bella is a composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and singer who writes original music for television and film, as well as production music, sonic idents and sound design. Her work spans factual programmes, documentaries, children’s television, entertainment, choral music, podcasts and commercials. She enjoys finding the right musical identity for each project, whether through melody, song, instrumental textures, voices or electronics.She studied at Cambridge, where she was a choral scholar, and later at Loyola University (New Orleans), SOAS and Goldsmiths (London). This varied musical background informs her broad approach to composing. Before focusing more fully on music, Bella worked as a journalist, mainly for the BBC, an experience that developed her interest in storytelling, structure and finding the right tone.Music credits include: Click (BBC); 10-part series Nurses (C5/Maverick); Panorama (BBC); 5-part series Rivers with Griff Rhys Jones (BBC1/Modern TV); BAFTA-winning live action/animation series Bookaboo (ITV/Happy Films); BAFTA-nominated Ross Kemp in Afghanistan series (Sky/Tiger Aspect), Ross Kemp on Gangs (Sky/Tiger Aspect), Who Downed Douglas Bader?
